Released on 10 July 1964 A Hard Day’s Night spent 3 weeks at Number one in the UK charts. I have 6 copies on 7″ single, the 4 listed below and 2 more in singles box sets.

First Press

The pictures below are of my first press copy which has the matrix numbers 7XCE 17714-1N and 7XCE 17715-1N and a KT tax code. There were some other labels around at the time, not from an EMI pressing, where the perimeter text was printed in all capitals and there was wider spacing between the 3 sets of text printed at 8/9 o’clock on the label. Despite having some light surface marks the record plays through very well, just some feint crackle, whilst the sleeve is also in very good condition, some minor ring wear, creasing and a couple of small tears.

Estimated Value : £3 – £5

Second Press (Green Sleeve)

In March 1976 all the Beatles singles were re released in new picture sleeves. I believe there is no difference at all in any of these pressings but, for the record, mine has the matrix numbers  7XCE 17714-1N and 7XCE 17715-1N.. Both the record, just some odd very feint crackle, and the sleeve, some minor ring wear, are in excellent condition.

Estimated Value : £5

Picture Disc

Released on 9 July 1984 as part of the It Was Twenty Years Ago Today series. Being a picture disc I have never played it but it appears to be in excellent condition.

Estimated Value : £20 – £30

Capitol For Jukebox Only

In 1994 Capitol issued 15 Beatles singles on coloured vinyl in jukebox only style under their CEMA banner (they issued another 15 in 1996). Below is my copy of A Hard Day’s Night on white vinyl. Being on coloured vinyl I have never played it but it appears to be in excellent condition. It comes in a plain white sleeve.

Estimated Value : £10
