Released on 4 October 2010, this eleven CD box set was the most lavish of all the releases on that date that were part of the “Gimme Some Truth” campaign to celebrate what would have been John’s 70th birthday. It contains the eight studio albums from Plastic Ono Band to Milk And Honey, each digitally remastered from the original recordings, plus a CD of non album singles and a CD of home demos and studio outtakes. Also included is a 60 page hardback book containing liner notes, rare photos, lyrics, artwork etc, a limited edition John Lennon 70th birthday commemorative print and a card which gave access to “exclusive John Lennon Online Universe”. Each of the albums is housed in it’s own digipak sleeve, which also has it’s own booklet, whilst the 2 bonus CDs share a digipak sleeve which has no booklet.
The UK/Europe release was on EMI/Capitol/Apple with barcode number 5099990650925 whilst the US release is credited to just Capitol with the same barcode number. It failed to chart in the UK whilst in the US it managed to reach number 148.
The pictures below are of my UK/Europe copy. Everything is present and correct and in more than excellent condition. I also still have the partial cardboard wrap-around that describes the contents.
I also have the vinyl version that was released on 8 June 2015, details here
