Released to promote the forthcoming Liverpool 8 album, Ringo’s first UK single since Weight Of The World (a near 16 year gap) was released on 7 January 2008 and spent one week in the charts, scraping in at number 99. As well as this 7″ red vinyl version it also received a budget, title track only, CD single release. There was no US release.
The A side was written by Ringo and Dave Stewart whilst the B side was written by Ringo and Mark Hudson. Dave Stewart contributes guitars on both tracks.
Liverpool 8 not only refers to the city of Liverpool being selected as the European Capital Of Culture in 2008 but also to Ringo’s place of birth – Dingle is in the Liverpool 8 (L8) postal area.
