Ringo’s first live album, recorded with his All-Starr band, was released in the UK on 8 October 1990 and the US on 12 October 1990 and failed to chart in either.
This first tour with the All-Starr band ran from July to September 1989 with these recordings coming from the closing shows at the Greek Theatre in LA. Among the personnel on this tour were Joe Walsh, Billy Preston, Nils Loggren, Jim Keltner, Dr John, Levon Helm, Rick Danko and Clarence Clemons.
During each All-Starr tour, Ringo will perform some of his Beatles/solo songs then whoever was making up the All-Starr band at the time would take a turn performing a few of the hits from their band/solo careers. On this recording we have five tracks from Ringo and seven from his band members.
Although not heard on these recordings, during this tour the odd guest would appear which this time included Zak Starkey, Bruce Sprinsteen, Garth Hudson (The Band), Tom Lofgren (brother of Nils) and even the comedian John Candy.
We are now at a time where the CD releases were at the same time as their vinyl equivalents. The UK release was on EMI with catalogue number CZ 353/CDP 7 95372 2 whilst the US release was on Rycodisc under catalogue number RCD 90190.
