This is a rare 1981 Columbian 12″ release of the 28th November 1974… EP that was released in the UK on 13 March 1981 – details of the UK 7″ release are here. Unlike the UK 7″ that plays at 33 1/3 rpm, this 12″ plays at 45 rpm. Also, unlike the UK release, this has Whatever Gets You Through The Night and Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds on the A Side with I Saw Her Standing There on the B side which was the order they were played live.
As you’ll see from the pictures below this pressing is on the EMI label and is on transparent green vinyl. It has the matrix numbers COL 4461071-30-111-81 and COL 4461071* 30-111-81. An oddity with this one, and I don’t know if the others are the same, is that the labels are on the wrong sides of the disc, ie the A side label is on the B side and the B side label is on the A side. The record is in very good condition, there are a couple of ticks at the start of the A side and a few ticks on the B side but no sticks or skips. The laminated side opening sleeve is in very good to excellent condition, some very minor shelf wear and ringwear. It also has a plain white inner sleeve in excellent condition.
At the time of writing there is a VG copy on Discogs for £65 (from Colombia) and an Ex copy on eBay for £91
Estimated Value: £60 – £70
