Originally released on 4 October 2010 as a CD box set to celebrate what would have been John’s 70th birthday, this vinyl box set was released nearly five years later on 8 June 2015 and contains all of John’s studio albums from Plastic Ono Band to Milk And Honey. Each of the albums have been cut to vinyl at Abbey Road studios using the 96k digital remasters that were created in 2010 for the CD collection. These digital remasters were made from the original anologue tapes so are John’s original mixes and not the ones created by Yoko for CD at the start of the century. Each album in the collection replicates it’s original release in every way, meaning that all posters, postcards and inner sleeves are present and correct – even Walls And Bridges has it’s booklet and cover with fold over flaps. All 8 albums were released individually 2 months later in August 2015.
The pictures below are of my box set which is in as new condition, it even still has the shrink wrap around five of the six sides. All the albums have been played only once. There’s also a card with a code (which I’ve not shown) that allows you to download all the tracks as MP3s.
I also have the CD version that was released on 4 October 2010, details here
Estimated Value : £120
