Released on 8 December 1967 this double EP spent 12 weeks in the singles charts (there was no longer a seperate EP chart at this time) peaking at number 2. It was kept off the top spot by Hello Goodbye! It was released in both mono and stereo versions and came with an attached booklet containing pictures from the filming, a cartoon strip of the storyline and the lyrics to the songs.

I have 4 copies on vinyl, the three shown below and one more in a box set

Stereo First Press

The pictures below are of my first press stereo copy. It has (p) 1967 at 9 o’clock on the label and has SOLD IN THE UK…text across the centre of the record. The perimeter text starts THE GRAMOPHONE CO LTD…... The matrix numbers on this copy are 7YCE 18435-1, 7YCE 18434-2, 7YCE 18436-1 and 7YCE 18437-1 and it has a KT tax code in the centre of record 1 and the run off of record 2. Second presses from mid 1969 do not have the SOLD IN THE UK…text across the centre of the record. The records themselves play very well throughout with just some occasional feint crackle and the odd feint tick. The original sleeve is in excellent condition as can be seen by the pictures, all the pages are intact and attached to the cover.

Estimated Value : £15 – £20

Mono Press Solid Centre

There was only one initial press of the mono version, the pictures below are of my solid centre copy. It has (p) 1967 at 9 o’clock on the label and has SOLD IN THE UK…text across the centre of the record. The perimeter text starts THE GRAMOPHONE CO LTD…... The matrix numbers on this copy are 7XCE 18435-1, 7XCE 18434-1, 7XCE 18436-1 and 7XCE 18437-2 and it has a KT tax code in the run off of the records. The records themselves play excellent throughout with just the odd spot of very feint crackle. The original sleeve is in excellent condition as can be seen by the pictures, all the pages are intact and attached to the cover.

Estimated Value : £15 – £20

Mono Press Push Out Centre

The pictures below are of my push centre copy. It has (p) 1967 at 9 o’clock on the label and the perimeter text starts THE GRAMOPHONE CO LTD…... Disc 2 has SOLD IN THE UK…text across the centre of the record but oddly, as there is only the one press of the mono version, disc 1 doesn’t. Looking closely I think the old centre was pushed out at one time and a different centre glued in later – look where the prongs meet the record. The matrix numbers on this copy are 7XCE 18435-1, 7XCE 18434-1, 7XCE 18436-1 and 7XCE 18437-2 and it has a KT tax code in the run off of the records. The records themselves play excellent throughout with just the odd spot of very feint crackle and a couple of feint ticks. The original sleeve is in excellent condition as can be seen by the pictures, all the pages are intact and attached to the cover.

Estimated Value : £15 – £20
