Released on 8 July 1966 this EP spent 18 weeks in the EP chart, peaking at number 4. All four tracks are taken from Rubber Soul and all are from side 1.
I have 2 copies on vinyl, the one shown below and one more in a box set.
The pictures below are of my first press copy. It has (p) 1965 at 9 o’clock on the label and has SOLD IN THE UK…text across the centre of the record which doesn’t appear from second presses from mid 1969. The perimeter text starts THE GRAMOPHONE CO LTD…... The matrix numbers on this copy are 7TCE 904-1 and 7TCE 905-1 and it has a KT tax code. Side 1 of the record plays very well throughout though there is some light crackle that doesn’t overwhelm the music. Unfortunately side 2 doesn’t fare so well – track 1, Michelle, plays awful, very feint and overwhelmed by crackle, You Won’t See Me starts the same but, after a small skip at the beginning, it plays great. The original sleeve is in very good condition as can be seen by the pictures, just some minor ring wear and creasing and some small minor staining on the back. Despite the records condition this is the hardest of all original EPs to get hold of so I’ve reflected that in the estimated value
Estimated Value : £25 – £30
